ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION - Survey colloquium in January 2025

On January 30, 2025, the so-called survey colloquium took place, during which the architects were able to clarify open questions about the tender.

This event was an important part of the first phase of the competition, as it enabled participants to obtain all relevant information to create their designs.

Almost 140 people were involved in the survey colloquium, including the representative of the Jewish Community, the Bornplatz Synagogue Foundation, the Senate Chancellery, the building authority, the district office, the district assembly and the Hamburg Parliament.

Submission of the first drafts by March 14, 2025

‍

The participating offices now have time to develop their first drafts in the form of plans and digital documents.

These must be submitted by March 14, 2025. The delivery of a model is also planned.

After this first submission, the evaluation by the jury begins.

Start of the second phase of the competition in May 2025

After reviewing the submitted designs, the second phase of the competition will start in May 2025.

In this phase, the designs are worked out in even more detail.

Participants will once again have the opportunity - by May 30, 2025 - to submit written questions.

The final submission of the developed plans and models is scheduled for mid-July 2025.

Prize court session in September 2025

‍Following the second submission, the jury will evaluate the submitted drafts. The jury will meet in September 2025. Following the jury's decision, the award-winning designs will be presented to the public.
